The variety of property combinations in ceramic materials is the reason
for a great number of analysing and characterising techniques whose
attribution to the classical texture and microstructure analysis is
sometimes rather difficult.
For that reason, in this contribution we try to classify the existing
analysing and characterising techniques and their results according to
the current questionings, in particular with a view to the development
of a high-performance silicon-nitride based material intended for use
in the field of engine and turbine production.
