Measurements of high energy cosmic rays above 10 PeV with KASCADE-Grande
Abstract:
Different aspects of the measurements and reconstruction of extensive air showers generated by cosmic rays in the energy range between 10 PeV and 1000 PeV are investigated. KASCADE-Grande detects at ground level charged particles of extensive air showers and reconstructs the total number of muons and electrons in the shower. On the basis of the correlation between the total number of muons in the showers and the total number of charged particles, a composition estimation is carried out.
