A new modular framework for automatic diagnosis of fault, symptoms and causes applied to the automotive industry

Abstract:

This dissertation explores the field of diagnosis applied to the automotive industry based on SIDIS Enterprise developed by Siemens AG. This thesis leads to a global modular framework for automotive diagnosis composed by: a perceived symptom search engine, an automatic ODX exchange system, a hybrid heuristic and a model based diagnostic strategy with a feedback engine. This framework leads to the bridging of traditional expert systems and the field of model based diagnostic engines.
