Syntheses, Structures and Properties of f and d-f Complexes using O-vanillin-derived Schiff base Ligands

Abstract:

Some Schiff base ligands containing two types of pockets (pocket-I and -II) were chosen for syntheses of f and d-f coordination clusters. It is well known that along first row periodic table the geometries and ionic radii may change. Thus, to study how these two effects can change the nuclearity and shape of a coordination cluster, different 3d metal (Zn to Co) ions were introduced. Thus varying the metal and molar ratios suitability of SMM and/or fluorescence properties were investigated.
