Catalytic Reforming of Methane in the Presence of CO2 and H2O at High Pressure

Abstract:
CO2 can be used on large scale for the production of syngas with a H2/CO ratio of 1. Such a syngas can be produced by CO2 reforming of CH4. These reforming processes are conducted at low pressure, which is not suitable if the upstream and the downstream processes are operated at high pressures. This study consist of the development of active catalysts and a process concept for the valorization of CO2 in the reforming of CH4 under high pressure to achieve a CO-rich syngas with a H2/CO ratio of 1.
