Organic spintronics: an investigation on spin-crossover complexes from isolated molecules to the device

Davesne, Vincent

Abstract:

Fe(phen)2(NCS)2 and Fe{[3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl]3BH}2 samples deposited by thermal evaporation on Cu(100), Co(100) and SiO2 substrates were studied, and compared with powder. The SOXIESST dynamic aspects were studied. Single molecule were switched by voltage pulses, if we reduce the influence of the substrate. Thin films exhibit a weaker cooperativity and modified transition temperature. Finally, we build Au/Fe-phen/Au vertical devices. They present notably a 'diode' effect at the spin transition.
