Matching Squark Production and Decay at Next-to-Leading Order Accuracy with Parton Showers

The search for supersymmetric particles constitutes one of the main points of the physical program at the LHC. For the interpretation of the measured data precise theory predictions are mandatory. In the context of this thesis two complementary methods for the improvement of the predictions for the production of light-flavour squarks and the subsequent decays into a quark and the lightest neutralino are combined: higher-order corrections at fixed-order perturbation theory and parton showers.
