TiO2: Application in Photocatalysis for the Degradation of Organic Pollutants and Aggregation Behavior in Aquatic Systems

Ren, Meijie

Abstract:

Natural organic matter is the most restrictive effect on the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants. The presence of dissolved oxygen can eliminate the inhibitory effect. The aggregation behavior of TiO2 was investigated in the presence of different types of dissolved organic matter. Bovine serum albumin had the strongest stabilization effect. A new immobilized catalyst polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/TiO2 film was synthesized. It possessed good photocatalytic activity and stability.
