ArcGIS Pro – eine neue Desktop GIS-Anwendung

ArcGIS ist eine Produktfamilie aus dem Bereich der Geoinformationssysteme (Geographic Information Systems, GIS), welche von der Firma Esri vertrieben wird. Die einzelnen Produkte stellt der Softwareshop des KIT bereit. Die Nutzung ist seit Januar 2011 für alle beteiligten Hochschulen in Baden-Württemberg über eine Landeslizenz bis 31.12.2016 abgedeckt. Im aktuellen Release 10.3 steht erstmals in ArcGIS for Desktop die neue Anwendung ArcGIS Pro [1] zur Verfügung, welche im Gegensatz zum herkömmlichen Hardware-gebundenen Lizenzmodell auf einem Named-User-Lizenzmodell basiert.

ArcGIS is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software product line distributed by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), an international supplier of GIS software. The single ArcGIS products are available via the KIT software shop. Usage is until 31.12.2016 free of charge for employees as well as for students. SCC is involved in the Baden-Wuerttemberg state license since January 2011. ArcGIS Pro [1] is a new application which is part of ArcGIS for Desktop and provided for the first time in release 10.3. Instead of the conventional single/concurrent use licensing it is based on a named user license model where each user of an ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS organization is assigned permissions to the software.
