Mechanism, symmetry and topology of ordered phases in correlated systems = Mechanismus, Symmetrie und Topologie geordneter Phasen in korrelierten Systemen

Abstract (englisch): In this thesis, interaction- and disorder-driven phase transitions are discussed with focus on the connection between the mechanism, the symmetry, and the topology of the resulting phase. Work is presented on the realization of a topological Mott insulator, selection rules for superconducting pairing, instabilities in oxide heterostructures, and the relation between the mechanism and the topology of superconductivity. Finally, the generalization to weakly disordered systems is analyzed.
