Interaction between fluxons in lateral Josephson junction stacks

We evaluate the interaction force between Josephson vortices located in lateral Josephson junctions which are aligned along the plane perpendicular to the surface of a superconducting multilayer. Such a structure can be realized experimentally, for example, by growing a multilayer on the bicrystal substrate. Fluxons in this geometry can be considered as anisotropic pancakes which can move in-plane only in one direction, along the Josephson junction. The long-range interaction force is calculated and compared with that known for planar Josephson junction stacks.
