As part of this project, an innovative grouted joint technique was systematically investigated for use in mast structures made of galvanised steel components. This specific grouted joint technique has a multi-layered joint structure consisting of grouting mortar and adhesive layers. The basis for the experimental investigations was the procurement of the steel test specimens and their structural steel processing. The manufacturing process was gradually detailed and specified over the course of the entire project. Suitable joint materials and material combinations were identified in small-scale tests. ... mehrIn medium-scale tests, various parameters relevant to the application were analysed with regard to their influence on the performance of the joint. Tests on large components verified the new technology with regard to its application for large component geometries. These tests were also used to demonstrate the suitability of the connection for polygonal cross-sections. The experimental investigations were accompanied by numerical simulations. The project showed that the joint is an advantageous alternative to existing joining technologies.
