Abstract:

The mytoken software offers a central service to obtain OpenID Connect Access Tokens in an easy but secure way for extended periods of time and across multiple devices. In particular, mytoken was developed to provide OIDC Access Tokens to long-running compute jobs.

Access Tokens can be obtained through a newly introduced token type - the so-called mytoken: Mytokens are Bearer tokens and can therefore easily be used from any device. With "capabilities" and "restrictions" mytokens can be restricted according to the particular use case to only allow the necessary privileges. This makes mytokens securely and easily usable.

Mytoken offers a web interface to create and inspect mytokens for simpler usage. In addition, commandline and REST API interfaces are supported for more advanced use cases. Commandline support is further improved, since oidc-agent now also supports mytokens.
Also, the API and library allows other applications to integrate with mytoken.

The newly developed mytoken app brings mytoken to the smartphone and allows easy
