Towards the big picture - Fusion of large image datasets

For more than two decades, researchers have been using in vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM) to gather valuable insights into the living tissue of the cornea in health and in a broad range of diseases. Algorithmic methods that align and combine the image data of large IVCM image series can vastly expand the spatial context of the recorded data. This talk showcases the potential of image data fusion techniques for IVCM, giving an overview of their history, current state of the art, and possible future.
