Abstract (englisch):

In present work, CO2 conversion in plasmas sustained with ultrafast microwave pulsations was investigated at atmospheric pressure. With time-resolved optical emission spectroscopy the evolution of the vibrational and rotational temperatures of in-reactor plasma has been observed at nanosecond time scale. The energy efficiency of CO2 splitting and CO2 conversion rate in pulsed mode are compared to continuous wave operation of the microwave source.
