Abstract (englisch):

The online self-study course lays the foundation for compliant, responsible behaviour during your studies and research with a special focus on mathematics. It allows you to get familiar with the structure of the scientific system in Germany, and it explains how research misconduct is defined and how science uses self-monitoring to avoid such rule violations. Case studies are used to show potential pitfalls for students and early career researchers in mathematics. Providing practical orientation, you are invited to transfer this knowledge to your own research processes and embrace the rules of scientific work.
All teaching and exercise texts are licensed under CC BY-NC 3.0, allowing educators and advisors to incorporate them into their own formats. Upon request, the course can be provided as an ILIAS or Moodle export file to integrate it into ILIAS or Moodle course environments. Contact: info@helpBW.de
