Abstract:
We present the LSDF2 facility operated at the scientific Computing Center of the KIT. This is a central on-line data storage system open to all scientists with a usable gross storage capacity of 20.6 PiB (22.7 PB) of which 13.4 PiB (14.7 PB) are being used by about 1.7bn files. Technically, the system is based on the Storage Scale product of IBM (GPFS) and the High Performance Storage System (HPSS).
We describe the current system and extensions currently underway as well as statistics on the usage of the system.
