Abstract (englisch):

Syngonium is a Neotropical genus of the Araceae family represented by 39 species, 32 of which are from Central America, nine of which are recorded in Mexico. During fieldwork conducted in 2021 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, we collected an undescribed species of Syngonium sect. Syngonium. In the present paper, we describe and illustrate S. huastecorum, a new species from Mexico. It is morphologically similar to S. podophyllum but differs from that species in having longer petioles, medium leaflet with more than twice as many primary lateral veins per side, fewer inflorescences per axil, the inflorescence with longer peduncle at anthesis, and staminate flowers which lack a line of fusion between the staminodes.
