Online integration of mobiTopp and MATSim for agent-based simulations of on-demand services (and beyond)

Abstract:

We present a live integration of the agent-based travel demand model mobiTopp with the traffic simulation framework MATSim to simulate on-demand ride-pooling services. The prototype enables dynamic mode choice decisions based on real-time fleet availability. A test case in Hamburg demonstrates significant reductions in ride-pooling usage due to supply constraints, showcasing the model's ability to capture demand-supply interactions in detail.
