Abstract (englisch):

Shorter development cycles demand and progress in digitalization opens up new possibilities in the validation of products. One option that is being used more and more frequently is the use of extended reality (XR) which can be supported by methodical approaches. These need to be adapted for real development environments that require, among other things, cross-domain and agile working methods. In this paper, an XR validation process is taken up and adapted to the conditions of a real development project-Country to City Bridge-by adding agile approaches as required and appropriate to the developing situation. Furthermore, the special characteristics of a cross-domain development process are taken into account. The applicability of the extended validation approach was tested in two case studies and the findings were integrated using a further iteration loop. Finally, an agile, cross-domain reference process for XR validation in product development is presented.
