Abstract:

Film cooling is widely employed in turbine blade cooling. Double wall cooling, which integrates film cooling with impingement cooling, represents an innovative and efficient cooling approach. Enhancing the performance of film cooling is crucial for further improving the overall efficiency of double wall cooling. Traditional film cooling configurations encounter challenges under high blowing ratio (BR), where coolant lifting reduces cooling effectiveness. To address the limitation, a novel arc vortex generator (AVG) was proposed. Experimental and numerical methods were employed to evaluate the performance of film cooling configurations equipped with different AVGs. Numerical simulations for double wall cooling with AVG were also conducted. The results demonstrate that the AVG significantly enhances cooling efficiency compared to conventional cylindrical holes, with an increase in adiabatic cooling effectiveness (ηad-areaAve) of up to 18.13 %. Notably, this improvement becomes more pronounced when BR ≥ 1.9. The performance of the AVG was sensitive to its height variations, a 66.67 % increase in AVG height declined ηad-areaAve by 3.55 %. ... mehr
