Explorative Evaluation of Validation Criteria for Validating Needs and Benefits of a Mobility Hub

Private cars are often preferred for daily commuting, especially in rural areas, leading to high space and energy requirements and significant carbon dioxide emissions. To bridge the gap between urban and rural areas, a mobility concept is needed that connects city and country, combining novel vehicles, infrastructure hubs, and conventional transportation services. Mobility hubs should be designed for seamless transitions between different modes of transportation, ensuring user-friendliness and accessibility. Before the development of these mobility hubs, the possible needs of and benefits for supplier, customer and user must be validated which are modelled in the product profile canvas. For the validation of the product profile canvas, seven validity criteria exist in preliminary work but lack support in assessing these. Therefore, this publication aims to evaluate the assessment of the predefined validity criteria through their application within a real development project, specifically the creation of a mobility hub in the context of the C2CBridge.
