Abstract (englisch):

Various applications of High-temperature superconductivity have been investigated since the last century, particularly for coated conductors. Due to their mechanical flexibility and high current carrying capacities, coated conductors or 2G HTS tapes have paved the way for practical applications for power transmission, generators, and other large-scale applications. Since they can withstand very high magnetic field without losing their superconducting properties, they have been investigated for NMR magnets, particle accelerators and fusion. Due to the wide range of possible applications and further R&D in this field, the KIT-CERN Collaboration on Coated Conductors (KC4) was established to investigate how small scale PLD parameters can be transferred to large scale Coated Conductor manufacturing. This is a one of a kind joint-open collaboration between KIT and CERN which will help bridge the gap between research and large-scale manufacturing. The production line originally established by Bruker, after its assembly at the Institute for Technical Physics (ITEP, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) has been used to produce REBCO CCs since 2023. ... mehr
