Abstract:

To learn more about the possibilities and challenges of hybrid work culture, master students from SDU in Denmark and KIT in Germany worked together in a hybrid seminar setting.
Working remotely without distractions might feel more productive – but is it really? Studies suggest that hybrid work opens up quite a few challenges regarding our productivity that we might have to adjust to.
Some of the main problems the students identified in this context are:

- meetings in hybrid settings face additional challenges due to technical limitations
- information has to be retained in a format that is accessible to both online and in-person colleagues
- task coordination also has to be managed between online and in-person colleagues, allowing for efficient feedback options

A lot of those challenges the students experienced first hand during their hybrid work sessions. Possible ways of addressing these problems are currently being researched by the students at SDU, for example designing a new program to coordinate tasks and check up on work progress within the team.
If you want to learn more about some of the solutions the Danish students are currently testing out, listen to the podcast “Does Hybrid Work work?”!
