KITcube Doppler lidar measurements from Milizac-Guipronvel, NAWDIC, Level 2 wind profiles

Abstract:

Wind profiles processed from measurements of the Doppler lidar Leosphere WLS200s_124 located at Milizac-Guipronvel (48.47394°N, 4.60154°W, 96 m) during the NAWDIC field campaign from December 2025 to March 2026. The instrument was placed on a container with 2.59 m height. The heights and the altitude refer to the position of the instrument. For the wind profile calculation, RHI, PPI, DBS scans, and vertical stares are used. The scan pattern had a repeat time of ten minutes, containing four RHIs, three PPIs, two DBS scans, and 10 s of vertical stares, each. The four RHI scans were carried out in four directions (northwards, eastwards, southwards, westwards). The three PPI scans were carried out at 1°, 35.3°, and 60° elevation angle. The vertical profiles of the 3D wind vectors are calculated using AtmoProKIT v1.1 with the standard module chain (https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-19-2497-2026). The default values of the standard module chain are used for all processing parameters, which excludes measurements below an elevation angle of 15°.
