Abstract:

In the context of electrification and the development of quieter internalcombustion engines, the noise generated by axial piston units is becomingmore prominent. While established methods and standards exist for evaluat-ing airborne and fluid-borne noise of hydraulic pumps, the structure-bornenoise emitted by the pump and transferred to mobile machinery has rarelybeen investigated. A method that has gained popularity in recent applicationsfor characterizing structure-borne noise sources is the in situ blocked forcemethod. Blocked forces are receiver-system-independent interface quantities, allowing for a component-specific assessment of structure-borne noise. Thispublication introduces the fundamental approaches for determining blockedforces and presents the results of a metrological assessment of blocked
