The dataset provided here was used as a reference dataset in the manuscript "NUKLEUS - A first kilometer-scale convection-permitting multi-model climate ensemble for Germany: Characteristics of the historical simulations 1961–1990" by Braun and Ehmele et al., 2026; available as a Preprint in Geoscientific Model Development: https://doi.org/10.5194 egusphere-2026-2517

A) Original dataset: HYRAS-DE from DWD

This dataset contains a modified subset of the Hydrometeorologische Rasterdatensätze (hydrometeorological rasterized dataset; more specifically HYRAS-DE and HYRAS-DE-PR) version 5.0 provided by Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD; German weather service).
Please note that there are more recent versions of the HYRAS dataset available under https://opendata.dwd.de/climate_environment/CDC/grids_germany/daily/hyras_de/
For information regarding the HYRAS dataset itself we refer to https://www.dwd.de/hyras

The selected subset of the HYRAS-DE dataset contains daily precipitation sums and mean, maximum and minimum daily temperature for the years 1961 to 1990.
