Concepts of Future Beam Diagnostics - a Perspective

Abstract (englisch):

The detector readout system KALYPSO, successfully used for beam diagnostics at multiple sites, has come of age. This provides an opportunity to rethink the concept of this particular detector readout system in light of up-coming technologies and the needs of future HEP experiments.
This talk presents the MALVA project, the successor to KALYPSO. The presentation will discuss the concepts and ideas behind MALVA, as well as possibilities for unifying readout system designs for HEP experiments, beam diagnostics, and synchrotron light applications.
