Abstract:
This data set provides key parameters typically used as lower boundary conditions for dust modeling. Data is provided as implemented in the Multiscale Online Nonhydrostatic AtmospheRe CHemistry model (MONARCH) as described in Klose et al. (2021):
- Global frequency of occurence (FoO) that the MODIS Deep Blue Aerosol Optical Depth (550nm) is greater than a given threshold (MONARCH_foo_MYD04_L2_agr30_v60_global_annual_0.20_0_qa1_0.1x0.1.v10.nc) following Ginoux et al. (2010, 2012)
- Static aerodynamic roughness length (Roughness_length_ASCAT_PARASOL_0.1deg_CDO_proj.nc) after Prigent et al. (2012)
- Monthly photosynthetic (Pv) and non-photosynthetic (NPv) vegetation cover fraction for January 2001 until August 2018 from Guerschman et al. (2015), corrected to fill missing values using successively: (1) the climatology of that month; (2) a three-months climatology centered around the month under consideration; (3) the overall climatology for the years 2001-2017 (vegfrcPv_<year><month>_corr.nc and vegfrcNPv_<year><month>_corr.nc bundled in vegfrcPv.tar.gz and vegfrcNpv.tar.gz)
- Monthly climatologies of photosynthetic (Pv) and non-photosynthetic (Npv) vegetation cover fraction from Guerschman et al. ... mehr(2015), calculated for the years 2001-2017 (vegfrcPv_<month>_clim.nc and vegfrcNPv_<month>_clim.nc bundled in vegfrcPv_clim.tar.gz and vegfrcNpv_clim.tar.gz)
Detail on how the data was utilized in MONARCH can be found in Klose et al. (2021).
