Abstract:

The document contains general information on the technical requirement for measurements of the variables

Ice Nucleating Particle (INP) number concentration
Ice Nucleating Particle (INP) temperature spectrum

for the topical center of cloud ice nucleation (CCice) within the cloud in situ (CIS) central facility of the aerosol, clouds and trace gases research infrastructure (ACTRIS). the technical requirements using the portable ice nucleation chamber (PINE) and the automated horizontal ice nucleation chamber (HINC-Auto) are provided. Furthermore, information on the technical requirements of offline measurements with freezing assay instruments such as the ice nucleation spectrometer of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (INSEKT) are given. The document will be updated with a new version as needed. It is a combined document with the measurement guidelines for ice-nucleating particle measurements (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.22893994).
