Abstract:

This dataset contains high-frequency electrical measurements from Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) experiments investigating the response of electric vehicles (EVs) to voltage perturbations during AC charging.

The experiments were conducted at the Energy Lab at KIT Campus North using an OPAL-RT real-time simulation platform, an EGSTON COMPISO (Unit 100-2GAMP4 power amplifier) System PHIL system, and a measurement box described in the referenced publication. An 11 kW AC charging setup with a maximum current of 16 A was used for the experiments.

The experiments emulate voltage disturbances in a 230 V low-voltage grid. Controlled voltage step changes, including ramp-up and ramp-down sequences within the permitted voltage range, were applied to reproduce voltage variations representative of an on-load tap changer (OLTC) malfunction. The resulting electrical response of the connected EVs was recorded with a sampling interval of 20 ms. The measurements were recorded using a measurement system developed by Beichter et al. (see sources for further details).

The dataset includes measurements from five electric vehicle models:
