Abstract (englisch):

Geospatial data are
easiest to understand when
presented on interactive web
maps. Powerful libraries such
as Leaflet already provide the
required functionality, but
their use typically requires
JavaScript programming
skills. How can map-based
applications be created with
basic HTML knowledge while
also reducing repetitive work
for experienced developers?
Our approach encapsulates
central Leaflet functionality
in Web Components that can
be used as custom HTML
elements. Maps, overlays,
markers, GeoJSON sources,
and time-series data can
thus be integrated declar-
atively, enabling faster
and more comprehensible
development of map-orient-
ed, information-rich live web
applications.
