Manganese hyperfine interaction in intermetallic Mn compounds

Abstract:

Local manganese moments at different lattice sites in intermetallic Mn compounds can be derived by analysis of the 55Mn nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra. This was used for GdxY1−xMn6Ge6 pseudoternary compounds and Mn5Si3C1.5 films. Careful NMR line shape analysis also yields anisotropic hyperfine and quadrupole interaction pointing to weak but non-negligible orbital moments.
