Litty, Klaus

Abstract:

In this thesis, the status of wastewater treatment technology in developing and newly industrialising countries was determined at the example of India and China in comparison to Germany. More than 60 wastewater treatment plants were inspected, plant staff was questioned and more than 90 expert interviews were carried out. Great differences between the three countries were determined, with cultural aspects playing a major role, especially regarding treatment plant operation and maintenance.
