Search for Resonant Top Quark Pair Production in the Muon+Jets Channel with the CMS Detector
Abstract:
This thesis presents a search for resonant top quark pair production in the muon+jets channel at CMS, using the 2011 dataset of proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s)=7TeV with a luminosity of 5.0/fb. No excess over standard model backgrounds is found and exclusion limits on resonances decaying to top quark pairs are set.
