Photocatalytic nucleophilic additions to styrene derivatives

Abstract:

DIMAP could be identified and characterized as a potent photocatalyst to drive the photoinitiated addition of MeOH to styrene derivatives upon excitation with LEDs. Synthetic application of the DIMAP photocatalyzed reaction could be demonstrated. The underlying mechanism could be elucidated. A peptide containing DIMAP as the chromophore could be synthesized and investigated in detail towards its characteristics and photocatalytic activity.
