Abstract (englisch):
This study examines the evolution, readership, and thematic focus of the multilingual blog Paysages (2009–2026), a self-funded, advertisement-free platform dedicated to landscape studies, cultural geography, and personal reflections. Originating as a subscriber blog under Le Monde in 2009, Paysages transitioned to WordPress in 2019, marking a shift toward digital self-publishing and internationalization. Over 117,155 page views (2019–2026) reveal a stable readership, with Germany (59.3%), the USA (22.3%), and France (11.4%) as primary audiences. The most accessed articles address historical events (e.g., the 1949 Forêt des Landes wildfire), media critiques (e.g., Le Monde’s PDF discontinuation), and geopolitical commentary (e.g., Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine). The blog’s persistence in a media landscape dominated by social networks and AI underscores its role as a niche repository of long-form, book-culture-aligned content. Findings highlight the viability of independent, multilingual scholarly blogs in fostering cross-cultural dialogue and preserving disciplinary memory.
