Grid-Forming Synchronverter-based Control Method with Current Limiting Method for Grid-Side Converters of Converter-based Generation Plants

Abstract (englisch):

An enhanced Synchronverter-based control method for three-phase grid side converters is presented. It is based on previous improvements of the control method. The aim is to implement the control method in real applications. The core of the work is the integration of a subsequent circular current limiting. For this purpose, the entire controller structure was transformed into a rotational reference frame using park transformation. In addition to a simpler controller structure, dead times in feedback paths of the control can now be avoided. Furthermore, a compensation of the power required by the LC filter was realised, so that the control at the PCC works stationary accurate without using additional measuring points. Detailed EMT simulation is used to validate the function of the presented control method.
